This 1933 Buick Sport Coupe with Rumbleseat, model 56S, is a sporty, good looking, nicely restored car that runs great and looks beautiful! It has the famous Buick overhead valve straight 8 with 3 speed synchro-mesh transmission. Only 1,643 coupes were built in ’33, at a factory price of $1,030. Wire wheels, sidemounts and luggage rack and BOP radio were all optional features.
.
Pretty from every angle! There’s that optional luggage rack. 1933 was a great year for American automobile styling, they just got it right that year across the industry.
.
The 119 inch wheelbase gave generous proportions for the designers to work with, and they did a great job!
.
5 hood vent doors really make a statement!
.
Great looking headlights, with big fluted lenses and dual chrome horns.
.
Excellent chrome plating
.
Although it was a medium priced car when new, it really had a deluxe look about it.
.
The interior is beautifully done, with correct materials and fabrics.
.
The dashboard is beautiful, and those instruments have obviously been properly restored – they look like new, and they work properly too!
.
Gorgeous! Note the radio knobs peeking out from below the center of the dash.
.
A close-up of the radio controller. note the “B O P” just below the key for Buick Olds Pontiac.
.
Beautiful Doorpanel and window trim
.
That knob lowers the rear window so you can talk to the rumbleseat passengers.
.
Properly trimmed headliner too.
.
Here’s the Buick straight 8 overhead valve engine. It runs great!
.
Here’s the manifold side. These cars had a tendency to break their cast iron exhaust manifolds, so this car has a nicely made set of tube headers mounted to the engine, thoughtfully done with the heat crossover for the intake manifold!

Here’s another view.

And the trim tag, showing 1933 Model 56S, and body number 731 ( of only 1634 Sport Coupes produced)
.
I love that art deco radiator cap!
.
A nicely done, pretty and fun car!
