The Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight convertible was the top of the line car – it was expensive, and this one is loaded with options, including:
- 455 Rocket V-8
- Turbo 400 Automatic transmission
- COLD factory AIR CONDITIONING
- Power Windows, all working great
- Power Top
- Power Seat, 6 way, works great
- AM/FM Radio – not working now
- Remote Mirror
- Power Antenna
This car has benefitted from substantial recent work, including a high quality repaint in the original Jade Gold color – a lively and subtle color, with metallic. It has a brand new top, too. The brakes were completely redone by the prior owner, as was the front suspension, with receipts to document the work. The tires are very recent, and include the spare tire.
It’s a black plate California car, sold new in San Luis Obispo.
Here’s a video of the car in operation!
This is a beautiful and rare car! The Ninety-Eight is a rare beast, you don’t see them too often. I particularly like the quarter panel styling, with that crisp edge that delineates the coke bottle shape of the body.
Very pretty indeed. This is a California car, so it’s super solid and rust free.
Another styling feature I like is the center edge of the hood – the whole car has great surface tension, it looks like it is canvas stretched over wire.
Let’s go inside – the interior is excellent, in the original Jade Gold color.
Wow! what a great looking interior. The seat is a power seat, and it works in all 6 directions – forward & back, tilt rear, and tilt front.
Absolutely beautiful original doorpanel! The armrest is nice and soft, it’s obvious this car led a good life.
The dashboard is spectacular – no cracks, beautiful woodgraining, and excellent chrome.
Beautiful original interior in excellent condition!
Excellent color matched top boot
Excellent top bows, and a brand new top with glass rear window
The Rocket 455 V-8 Engine – Runs great! I have been driving this car, and it is really nice to drive. It’s ready for your next adventure!
Original finishes on the engine.
A good honest engine with lots of recent maintenance. Also note the new battery. The Brakes and front suspension were completely redone, with receipts to prove it.
Nice clean trunk with cardboard dividers, new never used spare, and factory jack and lugwrench.
The trunk weatherstripping trapped moisture, so there is a teeny bit of rust along the lower edge of the weatherstripping.
The chrome on this car is awesome! I noted some very minor flaws on the rear bumper, there’s a ding and some pitting, but you have to look for it. All the rest of the chrome is just spectacular!
“Standard Motors Olds Cad” in San Luis Obispo! Look how nice the chrome and trim is up front!
A great car, well maintained, and cosmetically beautiful!
You could be cruising in this fine Oldsmobile 98 Convertible!
