The coachbuilding and design firm of Ghia in Torino, Italy made only 50 of these fantastic creations! Only 29 survive today, according to the best estimates available. So this is not only a rare car, but a desirable one!
This Ghia Badge represents the best of the best of Italian Coachbuilding and design. Their firm – established in 1915! was responsible for many spectacular creations, including the Dual Ghia, a long string of Chrysler product concept cars in the 1950’s, some custom bodies on Ferrari chassis, the Chrysler Ghia Limousines – owned by Rockefeller and Jackie Kennedy. The well known Karmann-Ghia and the Volvo P1800 were also Ghia designs.
Ghia had an unmatched sense of style and line, making an exotic car with perfect balance.

The Italian exotic flair extends to the interior, with split segment bucket seats that gave extra lumbar support – cutting edge in 1967! It’s luxuriously trimmed in leather, and also note the Nardi Steering wheel.

This photo shows why a custom coachbuilt car is so wonderful – this herringbone patterned sill plate – everywhere you look, the designers took care to make your experience visually delightful.

Knock off chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition! These are replacements for the original Borrani wheels.
The high performance Formula “S” 273 Cubic inch Chrysler V-8. Ghia’s long co-operation with Chrysler gave them access to the best mechanical items from Chrysler, including this excellent V-8 and the super tough Torqueflite automatic transmission.
All Stock and Authentic, and runs great! The Ghia 450 SS has power steering, power front disc brakes, limited slip rear axle, torsion bar front suspension, and dual exhaust.
Here’s the Chassis plate. The “BS 4045” number was driven by the original sponsor of this car – Burt Sugarman, a Hollywood producer who convinced Ghia to build this car. He was taken by a similar, but smaller Ghia design on a Fiat 2300. His passion for that design led to the production of the Ghia 450 SS.

Also included is the factory Air conditioning unit, complete with air unit shown here, compressor, tensioner, pulley, and brackets. This car was a factory A/C car, and this A/C unit is extremely rare.
