Nice & straight.  This was a glass-out, trim off effort, and it shows!

.

Note the reflections in the paint!

.

Great from any angle! The ’62 Gran Turismo Hawk was Studebaker’s top of the line car that year, and this one benefits from the 289 4 barrel and 4 speed transmission!

.

Nice correct exhaust tips, and I love the “Frost & French” license frame – They were the L.A. Studebaker dealer.

.

Excellent!

.

Brooks Stevens did the Hawk update for ’62 – A modern looking update for the Jet Age 60’s!

.

Pretty any way you look at it!

.

Gorgeous interior, with correct Heat embossed pleats in the seats.

.

Excellent doorpanels!

.

Wonderful dashboard, fully instrumented including Tachometer!  And there’s the 4 speed shifter too.

.

.

Dashboard close-ups.  Spectacular!

.

Correct Studebaker seat belts too.  The attention to correctness & detail on this car is very impressive

.

Chrome ribbed headliner is a nice touch

.

Flashy glovebox!

.

With Owner’s guide and accessory catalog too

.

Ashtrays on both seats!  It was the Mad Men era for certain!  Oh and they both fully recline (!)

.

289 V-8 with 4 barrel, the hottest thing available in ’62.  Note the power steering, power brake booster, and spin on oil filter.

.

The engine number is P87XXX , which is correct for ’62 Hawk, and is very likely the original engine.  I’ll know for sure when I get the Studebaker museum build sheet.

.

Nice Exhaust tips

.

Love that Twin Traction emblem!

.

Super clean trunk

.

And properly finished trunk lid.

.

Solid original trunk sheetmetal too

.

Nice spare & correct Jack & Handle

.

A beautifully done GT Hawk,  ready to enjoy right now!
