Take a moment to appreciate the styling on this car – very streamlined, looks great from every angle!

.

We get all the way back to the second owner,  Claire Rogers, who bought it as a late model used car at Walter Schroeder Motors of La Grange, Illinois in March 1941 for $757 American dollars! The former owner thought she made it to California right around WWII.

.

Myra Rogers, likely Claire’s relative, had it in Anaheim, CA up until the 1960’s.  Floyd Swan of Anaheim  then owned until 1978, Ed Reynolds of Studebaker International fame from ’78 to ’84,  then Thomas Griffith of Northern California until 1986,  and from ’86 onward the most recent former owner from Southern California.  It spent most of it’s life in Southern California, with all of the rust-free goodness you would expect from living here so long.

.

The Club Sedan is an unusual and attractive body style, and the Commander was the higher specification car with a bigger engine and more deluxe features than the Champion of the same year.
