This car was beautifully restored, and received Classic Car Club of America First prize and Senior Badges.
It’s the best of 2 eras – the last of the separate fenders / bumpers /sidemounts and 4 door open convertibles of the prewar era, combined with the powerful Buick Straight Eight 320, which was so good that Buick produced it until 1952! The idea is, although the body styling still had that classic look, the drivetrain and chassis were very advanced. This car has lots of power, it drives beautifully, and can be toured at freeway speeds if desired.
A classic profile to be sure.
The chrome and trim is absolutely beautiful. I love the GM Guide division driving lamps.
It was restored in Deep Green – it’s a very dark shade of green, and might look black in some of the photos, but it’s definitely green.
Great styling combined with extremely high quality restoration.
Is there a nicer one out there? I doubt it.
Let’s step inside and review the driving office! Note the correct woodgraining on the upper dash, and damscening ( engine turning ) on the instrument and glovebox surrounds. That steering wheel is correctly restored in the semi-translucent plastic, just like original, and the center emblem is beautiful too.
It’s spectacular.
Nice attention to detail!
Note the Sonomatic Radio buttons spell out “B U I C K”
The trim, in a russet brown, is completely done in leather. Note the straight seams and high quality of the work.
Sunvisors to match, including the GM accessory mirror.
Beautiful leather and wool carpeting.
Luxurious, soft, high quality leather!
Here’s the Buick 320 Cubic inch straight eight! It runs exactly as it should, nice and smooth and lots of power. Do you want to drive it on the freeway? Go for it. It’ll keep up or even pass the highway traffic.
Beautifully and correctly detailed in the engine bay.
It’s even nicely finished on the bottom side of the hood.
Buick Script radiator hose and correct hose clamps show the level of detail.
Here’s the trim tag.
2 National competition trophies from the CCCA – a First Prize, and then The Senior Oval.
that paint is beautiful and deep. Note the reflections in the surface.
Nice clean undercarriage.
Super Ray GM Lamp!
A trophy winning, extremely rare and beautiful car!
