Here is a beautiful 1936 Auburn 852 S/C Phaeton, with supercharger and dual ratio rear axle!
It’s a real supercharged car, with the pipes, supercharger emblem, and “GH” serial number to prove it!
The body is stunning in black. It’s super straight, with no rust. It was the recipient of a body-off paint job, and it looks great!
This shot gives an idea of the excellence of the body and paint. The exterior chrome is beautiful, too
And there’s the supercharger, making that extra bit of horsepower!
This engine was professionally rebuilt about 10 years ago, and it runs exactly as it should. It fires right up, holds good oil pressure, it’s smooth and makes good power.
Note the startix box, a standard Auburn feature.
Here’s another view of the 150 Horsepower supercharged Lycoming 8 cylinder engine! 150 Horsepower was a big number back then, especially for a light car like the Auburn!
Excellent chrome and nice senior Trippe lights.
Here’s a detail of the windshield. Note the knobs at the base of the windshield pillar. If you are feeling particularly sporty, you could fold the windshield down and get 100% of the wind in your hair! A pair of driving goggles would be recommended! The windshield wipers are not installed, but they are restored and included with the car.
Nice Rearmounted spare with metal cover. The rearmounted spare eliminated the sidemount, which allows the supercharger pipes to be displayed to maximum effect!
Wow! Look at that DASHBOARD! The fabulous art deco patten has been expertly restored, and the gauges are lovely too! The steering wheel is excellent.
Here’s a closer view of the dash.
Here’s the front seat, done correctly in leather. It was done quite some time ago, so the leather shows a bit of age. It’s in good shape, but it’s not show ready now.
Here’s the rear seat. Note the correct patterns and map pocket.
The spacious and comfortable rear compartment.
The top bows were recently restored – all that chrome is new and beautiful.
Nicely done sunvisors too, with articulated supports for maximum adjustability
It’s pretty clean underneath. The frame was refinished when the car was painted. It’s not perfectly detailed, but it’s in good shape and clean.
There is a section on the paint on the hood that shows some lacquer checking. It doesn’t show in the photos, but it’s there.
We close with a view of the essence of the car – the SUPERCHARGED emblem that announces to the world the power beneath the hood!
